For tourists like us, when we first come to Thailand, a concern we always have is WHAT and WHERE we’re going to eat. I confess that was a great worry for us, because we are not usued to eat their kind of food, so unique in the World. But if you choose the right place to go and eat in a good restaurant, you will find the Asian food so delicious that you may fall in love with it. And in Koh Phi Phi there are many different places to eat, we find very good restaurants but also weird places. That’s why you need to choose carefully. Take a look at the reviews on TripAdvisor first, cuz I think it’s not worthy to take the risk and eat anywhere or at the first restaurant you see.
So, in the village of Koh Phi Phi there are many options of restaurants, pubs, snack bars, cafeterias and ice cream shops, for all tastes and budgets. Most of them stay in Phi Phi’s centre, in Tonsai Bay. We went in two restaurants that we really LOVED the food, the attendance and the feeling of the place. The staff were also very nice with us the whole time. With an excellent localization in Tonsai village, the Acqua Restaurant and the EFE Mediterranean Cuisine Restaurant are both excellent options for those who would like to try a gastronomy of excellent quality in a nice and clean place. They stay at the same street, almost side by side, and we strongly recommend them. They both present a very good-looking appearance and a very complete Menu. Program yourself to go to both places while you are there, cuz it’s really worthy to meet them both!

We visited first the Acqua Restaurant and we got in love with that place. The owner of the restaurant Kimmie Kern, a very nice European lady who lives in Thailand, took our order. She was very kind with us the whole time and she had always a smile on her face. Many Brazilians and foreign people use to go there, which contributed to the perfect attendance we had.

Acqua Restaurant

Located in the center of Koh Phi Phi, the Acqua Restaurant is a place with a good appearance and we could eat there without any worries. Besides the special attendance we had, the place has a diverse Menu. With many options of salad, sea food, hamburger, pasta, meat, Thai food and also desserts, everything is prepared with loving hands and with only the finest ingredients. The dishes come quickly and they are offered at affordable prices. The @acquarestaurantphiphi is so complete that it has also options with gluten-free, for vegetarians and vegans. The place also offers many options of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered two delicious Fruit Shakes, a very traditional and refreshing drink in Thailand. You can’t leave the country without trying one of those. How we miss the Thai Fruit Shake! And at the Acqua Restaurant is a perfect place for you to try it. There, we had one Fruit Shake of Lemon & Mango and the other one of Banana & Coconut. They were both AMAZING!

And the food is perfect as well, very delicious. We wanted to eat something different from Thai food, so we ordered the “Caprese” dish for starter (tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella) and also the “Tropical Mango Salad with Avocado & Grilled Shrimp”. Seriously, that was one of the best salads we’ve ever had! As the salad was very well served, we just ordered one plate as the main dish, to share for two. We chose a pasta with salmon and onion and we loved it (“Salmone E Vodka In Salsa Rosa”). After the appetizers, the main dish served two persons very well. Everything was perfect!
The Acqua Restaurant is an excellent option in Ton Sai Bay. The place also has a breakfast menu. To visit its Facebook page and to get more informations about time of opening/close and the address,  click here.
On the next day we went to EFE MEDITERRANEAN CUISINE RESTAURANT, located beside the ACQUA Restaurant. EFE has excellent recommendations on TripAdvisor as well, with very great reviews, and it’s also considered one of the best restaurants in Ko Phi Phi.
We went to have lunch there, but we arrived around 3pm because we visited the restaurant on the same day we did the tour to Maya Bay, Bamboo Island, Monkey Beach and Pileh Bay. But despite that, we were very well welcomed anyway. You can go there anytime while it’s opened without any worries. The owner of the place, a Turkish guy named EFE, received us very kindly and we were well accommodated at his restaurant. He is originally from Turkey, but he lives in Ko Phi Phi for a while and he made us feel like home.

So, EFE Mediterranean Cuisine is another excellent restaurant in Phi Phi’s village. The place has a pleasing ambiance, with a very cool decoration. Each table has a flag on its top, representing a different country, making the customers all around the world feel comfortable. We chose the table with a Brazilian flag and under the glass of the table’s top we could see many money bills from different countries with great reviews about the place. We found R$5 there (brazilian money bill).

EFE Mediterranean Cuisine Restaurant

The restaurant presents a very complete and diverse Menu, with options of soups, many kinds of appetizers including the Arabian Cuisine, salads, Wraps, hamburger, pizza, vegetarian dishes, chicken, beef, fajitas, kebabs and Arabian dessert.
We took the house suggestions and we ordered a dish that Brazilian people order a lot there: the “Beef Kavurma” (rice, beef and vegetables). We also had the “Adana Kebab”, one of the best kebabs I’ve ever had. It came with rice and vegetables. They were both very delicious and it came quickly. The restaurant is always very famous for its amazing pizzas. Unfortunately we didn’t have the chance to go back there to try them. We tried to return on the other day, but it was already closed (most restaurants in Koh Phi Phi close around 9pm).
The place also counts with a great variety of beverages. We ordered two delicious Fruit Shakes, one of Watermelon and the other one of Mango. Like we said before, the Fruit Shakes are very popular in Thailand and you must try them. They fit perfectly on that hot weather which devastate the country. Finally, for dessert we had “Baklava”, a wonderful Arabian candy. Seriously, it was the best Arabian dessert I’ve ever had. I am sure you are gonna love as well. It was PERFECT! Don’t leave Koh Phi Phi without going there. It’s an excellent choice in Ton Sai Bay. To access the restaurant’s Facebook page, click here.
