But once you are there, what do you have to do in this paradise other than enjoying the beaches?

Bora Bora offers a lot of activities for those who want to explore the place besides getting a nice tan and swimming on the private beaches of the resorts.

Generally the own resorts offer activities with no additional cost, like giving you the paddleboard to practice Stand Up Paddle (or SUP), Kayak, scuba and snorkeling, etc. We stayed at the Intercontinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort and we did all of these there. It was super fun and we loved it!

Besides theses activities that you can do at the own resort you are staying without any extra cost, there are many other options of things to do in Bora Bora that you can ask to include in your own package or you can hire right there. We did only 2 tours (we hired before arriving there, with e-Tahiti Travel, the same agency that made our Travel Package.

The most popular activities in Bora Bora are:

  • Bora Bora Lagoon Cruise and 4WD Tour (four wheel drive tour);
  • Snorkeling at Matira Point;
  • Scuba-diving;
  • Shark and Ray feeding;
  • Circle island tour by Jet Ski;
  • Circle island tour by bicycle;
  • Sailing cruises;
  • Submarine excursion (unique in the South Pacific);
  • Marine Museum;
  • Old military tracks;
  • The walk to Otemanu Peak;
  • Bora Bora Mountain trek;
  • Parasail, skydive;
  • Helicopter tours;
  • Private lagoon tour with photographer “Loveboat”;
  • Underwater wedding ceremony;

We did a Full Day Lagoon Tour + Ray Feeding, a excursion of a entire day that included lunch, feeding the rays and swimming with the sharks. It was really amazing and we got that included on the package.

Included on that excursion, we stopped on an island to have lunch. It was an unique experience.

After lunch we stopped in another place to dive and swim. There we could find many rocks on the ground, deep on the ocean, forming a shape of a heart and the famous “I Love Bora” sign.

The other tour we did was the Loveboat, a romantic private tour including great photos with the best views of the lagoon for background, and the best guidance of Bora Bora. As we were on Honeymoon, we wanted many pictures together on that Paradise. At the end of the tour we could enter on the water and also took some pictures there.

The boat is a panoramic deckboat 21ft with a sunbed at the front and shadow at the back, only for this private tour. Champagne is included and served in a coconut freshly opened. All the photos were given to us on a USB flash drive at the end.

Another option in Bora Bora is to meet the world famous Bloody Mary’s Restaurant, known for its fresh food, signature cocktails and great ambiance. On a raining day we took a shuttle on the hotel to meet downtown and on the way back we stopped there. The place already received people like Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Cameron Diaz and Charlie Sheen. There you walk on sand floors and sit on coconut stools under a thatched roof.

Bloody Mary’s isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience, especially at dinner. We went there on lunchtime though. You can’t leave Paradise without going there.

When we left the Restaurant we went back to the Resort Le Moana by walking. It wasn’t that close, it was like 1 hour walking distance, but it was worthy to meet the island outside of the luxurious resort and see how real life is for the natives. We took the opportunity to meet The Farm Bora Pearl Company, another attraction on Bora Bora. It was also pretty cool.

The Farm Bora Pearl Company

The Farm at the Bora Bora Pearl Company brings you the extraordinary thrill of discovering the secrets of the Tahitian cultured pearl. The Tahitian pearl is born inside a fragile black-lipped oyster. The pearl creation process begins with the introduction of a foreign substance into the flesh of the oyster. This delicate operation only produces its results 2 years later, with no guarantee of success. Only three out of every 100 pearls born are perfect. The Farm allows you to witness each stage of life of this gem from the lagoons, from the grafting to the birth of the pearl, the magical instant when it reveals its brilliance, its orient and its exceptional colors. Truly a rare moment.

So, as you could see, Bora Bora has plenty of things to do. There you can find attractions for all tastes and ages, for different degrees of courage and for all kind of person: nature lovers, adventurous travellers, romantics ones, for those who want to relax and appreciate a wonderful view, and for all of those who want all of these but don’t give up a stay of luxury and comfort in a bungallow. Bora Bora is simply PERFECT!
